English Teaching, Communications Development and Cross-cultural Awareness

There is a big demand for English teaching in rural areas for socio-economic and career aspirations. Many students resort to taking expensive language courses in the cities. To meet this demand, we often run English language teaching classes at our ECRCs (Education and Career Resource Centres) or in local school/colleges. Part of the revenues generated from the language courses is aimed to run our social projects, such as environmental conservation, women empowerment, etc.

Since many locals want to study, work in nearby cities, online or settle abroad in developed countries, the language classes also consist of an inter-personal communications development / public speaking as well as cross-cultural awareness component to help them create a global perspective and overcome stereotypes of foreign cultures, leading to better cultural integration and global citizenship.

The classes / workshops incorporate all aspects of learning a language – speaking, listening, reading and writing. It contains over 200,000 words of original created content, focused on transforming the child into a confident and literate student. The program benefits students in 3 ways – improves written and spoken English, enhances basic Computer skills and boosts overall academic performance.

English Teaching, Communications Development and Cross-cultural Awareness project also focusses on helping locals develop skills in inter-personal communications and public speaking during ECRC workshops.

With the usage of laptops and use of local schools’ infrastructure a major makeover and the students benefit from a comfortable learning space. We partner with like minded schools and organisation in order to impact many a children from the 1st grade to the 1postgarduate girls..
