The Educare Internship Program (EIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of Educare. The program is aimed at allowing individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, research experience, and implement their ideas at the grassroots levels and build their skills in a dynamic and diverse environment. In addition, it is a great way to enhance CVs with practical work experience. We at Educare believe in offering freedom to our interns in choosing the areas they want to work in. However, with this freedom comes great responsibility. We expect all our interns to be able to function in a multidisciplinary environment as ‘Intra-preneurs‘ and take up leadership roles whenever required.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an Internship, candidates must either have or be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate study program (pursuing a master’s degree or PhD). There is no age limit. We are always looking for interns with academic and professional backgrounds that relate to our areas of work. These include, but are not limited to: education and skills development, economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social sciences, public policy, disaster management, climate change, sustainable development, forestry and agriculture, engineering, applied psychology, tourism, and applied research. We also hire interns who wish to work the fields of IT, human resource management, communications and outreach, and accounting.

Application Process

All applications are to be submitted through our Internship Application Portal. Apart from answering some generic personal questions, applicants will also be required to upload the following documents:

– Curriculum Vitae (CV)
– Statement of Interest
– Proof of Enrollment/Completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree
– A short essay(minimum 800 words) on any topic related to your desired field of work.

Once submitted, the applicant will not be able to make any changes to their application. The short essay could either be a previously submitted college essay or newly written. Essays that deploy proper citation methods will earn bonus points. If shortlisted, the candidate may be asked questions about their essay in the interview stage. Applicants applying for roles in IT, human resource management, communications and outreach, and accounting are not required to upload an essay.

Selection

All applications are stored in a database which is consulted by hiring Managers based on organizational needs. Usually, applicants can expect to hear back from us within a week of applying. If shortlisted, the applicant will be invited to an online interview. If all works out well, the candidate will be provided with an offer letter. Please note that we do not have a pre-identified number of positions for interns at any given time. For each season, hiring is solely based on available vacancies. We always aim to screen and pick candidates that best fit our organizational needs and match our Core Values.

Other Information

EIP is a residential internship program. All interns will be provided with three vegetarian meals a day and accommodation at our Campus Hostel. Supplementary non-vegetarian meals will be arranged for few days each week for non-vegetarians. For lodging and boarding charges, please refer to our Residential Policy.

EIP also provides for the opportunity to earn a stipend to our medium to long-term interns (3 months or more). The stipend is usually an amount that enables the interns to take care of their accommodation expenses. Interns with extraordinary ability and performance can graduate to become Fellows after 6-months work-stay (minimum 1-year commitment) to draw a higher stipend.
