Village Organics, Handicrafts and Rural Economy Store (ReStore)

Village Organics, Handicrafts and Rural Economy Store is a multi-faceted project that combines the areas of organic produce, handicrafts, women micro-enterprises, marketing and sales of rural products, micro-finance, women’s empowerment, recycling and community outreach.

Village Organics, Handicrafts and Rural Economy Store (ReStore) is represented through eco-stores in the communities in which we work. These are social spaces where the community members can interact, obtain information and purchase locally-produced products. Restore is a key interface that EduCARE India uses in the development of its relationship with those communities.

Restore makes eco-products which promotes healthy and sustainable living, available to the community at low prices. These include organically-grown foodstuffs, fresh fruit juices, herbal teas and homemade soaps. Since these products are not widely available in these communities, this empowers the local community to make more informed decisions about the type of products they produce, purchase and consume.

Village Organics, Handicrafts and Rural Economy Store (ReStore) is also aimed to act as a platform to provide information on the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling; promotion of various healthcare and health insurance products; promotion of rural local green economy and women economic empowerment.
