Empowerment
We work with women, young people, and community groups to develop sources of income and strengthen practical money-management skills.
What This Involves
-
Income and Enterprise
We work with women’s self-help groups and young people to explore possible products and services, see whether there is a market for them, and help develop those that could become sources of income.
-
Financial Literacy
We work with community groups to strengthen practical money-management skills, including savings, loans and interest rates, bank accounts, budgeting, and bookkeeping.
Earlier Work
-
Girls’ Clubs
For girls aged roughly 8 to 18, the clubs combined basic education, life skills, vocational training, and income-generation activities.
-
After-School Learning
We also ran after-school study centres and mentoring for older students, including help navigating higher education.
