Internship fee

There is no weekly or monthly facilitation fee charged for the EduCARE India internship program.

However, every intern has to pay a one off standard admin / legal fee of $670 USD* for related admin expenses, student/employment visa sponsorship documentation, liability undertakings and legal support retainer ship, training and internship certification, and validation. This fee is a one-time only payment for your internship at the time of your internship confirmation and before we send you the visa sponsorship documents.  It is valid for 6-months or 1-year. This fee remains the same no matter if your intended internship stay is 2-months or 6-months. No other fee is charged. The internships below 2-months duration can be found with our affiliate partner – EcoDEVA and CIEEL.

Accommodation, workspace, the internet, and local transport at project sites is provided free up to 6-months stay.

Fee breakdown:

Legal Liability fee
To legally protect the organization and interns in case of any liability issues
$300 USD
Visa documentation and related resource support fee
$150 USD
Internship training, certification and validation fee
$130 USD
Internship HR handling and incidental charges
$90 USD

Total: $670 USD

The expense heads are an average contractual cost calculated with the outsourced services. As a sustainable NGO, with no external funding or aid, whilst we cover the costs of accommodation, workplace transportation, and communications from members and associates– we ask all interns to cover the other mentioned costs themselves.  This cost is similar to paying for health insurance and other outsource services costs elsewhere– it brings some support and protection to both the organisation and thus you in a case of unforeseen problems.

Refund policy

Our mentioned processes are outsourced to external associates and retainers.  Thus, EduCARE India does not offer any refunds once your placement is confirmed as we are unable to absorb these external costs within the organisation.   In some exceptional circumstances for compassionate reasons, we may be able to offer a percentage refund, however, this is at the sole discretion of the accounts department and will be processed in the next financial quarter after the refund request is made.  Please note that no refund request will be entertained in case of visa rejection by the Indian consulate. Under no circumstances will the program fee be refunded to the intern after the internship start date.

* Please note there is no visa documentation fee for foreigners who possess a PIO/OCI card.
