ReStore
We are part of a nature's life cycle – Future generations have as much of right to the earth's resources as we do today. - Denying them of this right is most insensitive and selfish act of our generation. We must RESTORE the maximum that we extract.

Dear Friends,

In the last two centuries, the Earth & its natural resources have been grossly abused beyond its capacity of natural restoration thereby creating imbalances in environment and natural biodiversities.

Consumerism and market driven people and communities have developed habits of using excess and waste a lot of products and resources without any sensitivity towards its negative impact on the nature and the earth. Use and through as redundant is the trend.

We intend to contribute our bit towards bringing back and restoring Earth's healthy environments by bringing eco-friendly used and new products, services and consulting at people's doorsteps.

The ‘VIKAS Cluster Centre, Dosarka' is proud to serve the local community in Dosarka Dhoot Kalan Cluster in the sale and education of consumer products and technologies for a genuinely earth-conscious lifestyle contributing to conservation of environment and bio-diversity through setting up an eco-store, named – ‘ReStore'.

‘ReStore' means ‘bringing back to healthy balance'.

We hope we will help to encourage a mindset and lifestyle that is more informed, educated, more discerning in consumer choices, and more aware of the many quality choices we are able to make as we reduce our footprint on the earth for the healthy and sustainable future generations.

We invite you all to become a member of and signatory to our “Restore Healthy Environments' campaign initiative and join us in our many activities and projects at our website being launched soon – www.restore-earth.com

ReStore - A social enterprise

'ReStore' is a social enterprise under ‘Environment & Conservation' and ‘Economic & Livelihood Sustenance' initiatives of our Project RuralDEVSE (Rural Development through Education, Volunteering & Social Entrepreneurship).

The main objectives of this store are to serve the agenda of reduce, reuse & recycle, and replenishment -

•  Bring to use and promote purchase of new environment friendly and organic materials, foods and technologies

•  Promote village level pollution less micro industries and enterprises , including organic farming

•  Manage the waste management, activities, including - collection, classification, usable waste storage, recycling and refurbishing workshop, transformation and disposal / dumping in association with the VIAKS Centres in the area

•  Bring back by restoring certain reusable and recyclable items back in public use from the waste,

•  Bring currently unused, old or broken material that is lying in the backyards and storages in various households in the area back to use through recycling and refurbishment,

•  Conduct R & D to create new environment friendly products and services

Need Assessment

The contributing factors that have brought forth the need of setting a this store due to -:

•  Lack of any organized community system to deal with rural waste

•  Lack of adequate scientific recycling and refurbishment facilities for the usable waste

•  Lack of dedicated faculties focusing on promotion of use and sales of used, recycled and organic materials

•  Lack of R & D in this sector with a regional perspective

Aim

The aim of the ReStore facility is to support our initiative in the field of environment and conservation through promoting –

•  Use of environment friendly recycled and new products, life practices & technologies

•  Rural Waste Management

•  Organic farming

•  Natural Biodiversity & Ecological Conservation
